Silk Capes are a staple of dress-up and dramatic play. They are silky soft yet durably made from heavyweight silk. An elastic neckband and shell button make our Capes easy to put on and take off and elegantly simple for children!

  • Dress-up play is the work of the child, and children benefit cognitively, physically, socially, and emotionally through this work.
  • Open-ended play with dress-up costumes allows children to express their imagination and supports their independence. 
  • Dramatic play gives the child’s imagination free reign. Who, where, or what they can become is limitless, which allows our costume pieces to grow with the unique creative needs of each child and provides them with many years of lasting play value.

The Rainbow Silk Cape is 32-inches long with an elastic band that comfortably stretches from 18 to 28-inches. Fits most children ages 3 to 8. Made with 100% heavyweight (8 momme) mulberry silk in our Rainbow colorway.

Pairs wonderfully and styled with our Rainbow Crown and Rainbow Sword.

Care instructions

Hand-wash with mild shampoo or dish soap and warm water. Hang dry, and iron on medium to restore shine

The cape had many flyaway little threads and I'm worried it will become damaged sooner rather than later.

Thank you for your note! Some loose fibers around the hemline are totally normal for silk and won't come undone :) If you'd like to send a photo to our customer care team, we can have a look and let you know if it's abnormal/if we should replace it :)

Cape is a hit!

This is exactly the superhero cape my daughter dreamed up!

This cape was a gift

This cape was a gift for my granddaughter’s second birthday. I was delighted with the design, she can easily slip it over her head (independently). The rainbow floats behind her as she runs.
I hand washed it before gifting it. It took just minutes. The colors did not bleed. I rolled the cape in a towel to dry it before hanging.

Gorgeous Cape

Bought this for my 4.5yo for Christmas. I cant wait for him to open it. We've had the playsilks for awhile and we felt it was time to invest in a few capes. The colors are absolutely gorgeous. Will definitely be buying more to add to our dress up area.
