Rainbow Fairy Mobile
Imagine looking up and seeing a sky full of fairies hovering above you. These are the things that spark a child's imagination. It's so easy to make your very own fairy mobile. This project is wonderful to do with children ages 4-10 or for a friend who's expecting.
You will need:
12 silk pieces, or you may choose to buy our Playsilk Fairy Mobile Kits
Cotton thread (you may choose any color)
A fine needle
A Playsilk to hang your mobile
White stuffing wool
A piece of driftwood, stick or our Playsilk Ring to hold your mobile in place.
First, cut 6 lengths of thread, 12" each.
Next, take a little bit of stuffing and form it into a tight ball so it's about the size of a marble.
Bring the silk around the head and hold it at the neck, wrap the thread around twice and tie a knot.
Next, thread your needle with the two tails of thread. Put the needle in at the neck and come out right in the middle of the top of the head.
Cut off your short tail level with the top of the head - careful not to snip your silk.
Hang your branch or ring with a Playsilk.
"Rainbow fairies swinging free,
Rainbow fairies that we see,
Come and play with me today,
How you play your special way!"
Thanks for the lovely tutorial. My little one is moving from her bassinette to a cot in the next few weeks and this would be so sweet to make.
I love this simple tutorial. I am pinning this to Pinterest with a link to your blog to help spread more fairies in the world.
