A Soft Welcome to Moominvalley 🌿
Introducing Moomin x Sarah’s Silks + a special giveaway
There is a place where the days move a little slower…
where friends gather without hurry,
where adventure and rest live side by side,
and where being yourself is always enough.
This is Moominvalley.
We are so happy to share our Moomin x Sarah’s Silks collection, inspired by Tove Jansson’s beloved world — a place that has quietly held generations of children (and grown-ups) in its gentle wisdom.
In Moominvalley, stories unfold in simple ways:
a picnic, a wander, a moment of courage, a return home.
These are the same rhythms we hold dear in children’s play — open-ended, imaginative, and deeply nourishing.
Our new collection invites children to step into that world…
to wrap themselves in softness,
to create their own stories,
and to discover that creativity itself is a kind of healing.
To celebrate, we’re offering a Moomin x Sarah’s Silks giveaway.
One winner will receive a curated bundle from our collection.

At the moment my kids are playing with a new circular swing tied to a tree in our yard sprinkled with dandelions. They’ve been outside for hours in the chilly gloomy weather. Giggling, spinning and laughing. My son squats in the abundance of yellow flowers and thinks the morning away. My daughter swings laying down watching the clouds go by. The other day they tied fabric as capes, strips to dowels as wands, sticks as walking sticks and swords. In my house rocks are treasures and collected in bowl fulls. Imaginative play has no words. No rules. No boxed boundaries. A cardboard box takes many forms before its finally recycled. A bird and squirrel aren’t just everyday appearances. They are creatures with a story. The fascination my children have with wonder brings out the whimsy in me. A joke becomes question that turns into a conversation that ends in a spiritual talk ending in a story. This is a glimpse of imaginative play. At least to me. The whimsy of the mundane.

To me, imaginative play is about creating vidid imagery with children. It can be pretending to be a teacher or a mermaid or a superhero. It’s so important to the development of a child’s brain as well as your relationship with them. I love having no clear plan and bouncing from “cooking” a three course meal to defending a castle from a dragon in an instant.

I love Moomin because his world feels like a soft sigh wrapped in sunshine, moss, and moonlight. Moomin’s gentle heart makes space for storms, for lonely creatures, for joy that arrives quietly like a teacup set down just right. It’s a place where nothing is too strange to belong, and everything feels tender and a little magical. It reminds me that being kind, curious, and a bit dreamy is enough.

We are a Moomin-loving family! Moominpapa At Sea is one of our favorite books, but we are always collecting more. We visited the Moomin Shop in Covent Garden the last time we were in London a few months ago. We are so excited for this beautiful and fun collab!

My husband and I got into the Moominvalley books and comics before we became parents. Now that we’re parents we’re enjoying introducing these beloved characters to our children. I think these scarfs bring stories to life and encourage open ended play, bringing us all into Moomin Valley. What gift for the growing imaginative brain (and for all ages in my opinion)!

Our family discovered Moomins while traveling in Norway. So magical! We love Sarah’s Silks. It’s delightful to see your brand collide with Moomin. Whimsy + whimsy = imaginative play home run!!! Our homeschool family approves! <3

There’s something so special about the kind of play that doesn’t need directions… just space, softness, and a little bit of magic. Watching my daughter, Elodie, discover the world through imagination has completely shifted how I see childhood; slower, gentler, and so much more meaningful. This feels like such a beautiful way to hold onto that. Moominvalley has always felt like a reminder that being yourself is enough, and I love that so much 🤍

Imaginative play is so important to us! I love seeing my sons get creative with their silks & toys. Right now my oldest is obsessed with combining his figures with printed silks as playscapes so these printed Moomin ones would be perfect!
